What Is Short-Term Rehabilitation?

Short term rehabilitation, also known as subacute rehabilitation, is a program of care that is designed to help individuals recover from an illness, injury, or surgery. It typically involves a range of therapies and services that are provided for a limited period of time, usually ranging from a few days to a few weeks, until the individual is able to return home or move to a more long-term care facility.
